Default Festivals

Hi,

Has any member of Bon Jovi ever mentioned festivals? I don't know about over in the states, but here in the UK festivals are HUGE, usually lasting a weekend with most people camping out in the grounds.

I hope to go to the Isle of Wright festival next year and it got me wondering, do you think Bon Jovi would ever play a festival? I think it would be so cool!

Anyway, just one of those questions I tend to ponder.

They said in a radio interview with Virgin Radio shortly after their summer tour over in the UK last year that they'd love to come back next year (this year) to play a UK festival... but that isnt happening...uuummm

nahh don't think it will ever happen myself... Festivals tend to buck up the bands who are on the Radio 24/7 such as Snow Patrol, The Killers as headliners... you never know though... if it was going to happen Isle Of White festival would be the most likely i think...

it would be great if it did happen tho one year, i'd love Jovi at a festival

They played at Rock Am Ring in Germany back in 1995/1996 i think... but thats wen Jovi were much more commercially popular in Europe...

yuppo...

I guess it's likely they could do one of the new festivals much like what Aerosmith are doing in Hyde Park in June...

if they were going to do it it'd be something like isle of white or hyde park.

it certainly wouldn't be something like V or glastonbury, they just don;t appeal to the target demographic.

i know the guy who books the bands for a massive festival and he asked me who i'd like to see appearing one year, i said bon jovi and he laughed and said they'd never play a festival and festival promoters would never want them to play >

Actually, in Hungary there is this massive one week festival called Sziget (thsi year: The Killers, Tool, Pink, The Hives, Chemical Brothers, and probably quite some more)and they have a wishbox and Bon jovi always makes it to the most voted 4-5 bands, together with Metallica and Iron Maiden...

but I guess overall, you are right. Jovi don't neccessary appeal to the classical festival audience but then Jovi fans are die-hards and I am sure the festival would be sold-out anyway.

V, Glastonbury, and to an extent the Carling Weekender largely have the same target demographic anyway. By the looks of it, Isle Of White and T In The Park are pretty similar. And yeah, they don't really fit that demographic at all. Nor for Download. I'd say Hyde Park would be most likely. V maybe, Virgin Radio don't seem to mind them too much
