Default Unplugged 1992 (An Evening with Bon Jovi)

Hey guys.

I don't usually post messages like this, but I'm sick of looking and I don't wanna pay some jackass $40.

I'm looking for the version of Livin' On A Prayer that they played at this show in New York City for MTV in it's entirety.

If anyone has it, a PM would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks alot!

Not sure where you're looking that it'd be that much. I just did a quick eBay search and found it for $7.98, or $15 for a sealed/new copy (VHS)

I have it on VHS. I want the audio on CD. If I was at all computer literate, I'd try and figure out how to transfer it.

Well it's only ever been out officially on VHS, CD-i and Laserdisc, so any audio you find will only be a rip of one of those. I have the CD-i so I could have a go at ripping it maybe, but it'd only be MPEG VCD format audio, so not really anywhere near CD. Your best bet would be to try to find a rip of the laserdisc.

I've seen some copies of it on CD with clips and it sounded perfect. This guy has it on his website, but he wants $40 with shipping for it.

I just mean that you won't find a CD quality copy, it would only be compressed audio, and given that this was 1992 it was VCD type format, MP1 audio, which is nowhere near as good as MP3.

Well in 1993 I do recall seeing a double disc cd version of the entire show.... And it was cd quality, or pretty close.... The only problem is, I've never been able to find that cd version ever again.... The only think I would suggest is buying a recording program for your pc like Soundforge, and then running the audio from the vhs tape into your pc. I've done that before, and as long as the video is of good quality, it should come out fine. Hope that helps.

Well the only official CD version I'm aware of is this one I have here that I got from eBay once, and it's not an audio CD but a Philips CD-i which is effectively an early format of VCD I think.

There are several laserdiscs copies of this show available on Ebay too. But you need a laserdisc player to play it. Quality wise Laserdisc is a lot better than CD-I.

Well presumably LD was just the pre-cursor to DVD, but it must have used the CD technology, so on such a big disc you could fit a fair few GB. With DVD they just made it such that the laser was smaller so more information could fit on a CD sized disc. From what I can find, CD-i was only 352 x 288 resolution, which is why I made the comparison to VCD.
