Jon Bon Jovi's Hidden Hair

Jon Bon Jovi is embarrassed to let his kids see his old 80s hairstyle.

The rock star - who has sold 120 million albums since Bon Jovi appeared on the music scene in the early 80s - admits he hasn't shown his children DVDs of his old concerts for fear of what they might think.

Bon Jovi told the Times Culture magazine: "I've heard Richie and Dave say they played their kids a DVD of our old concerts from 20 years ago, and they were really laughing. But I've never done that.

"They would probably laugh at my 80s hair. Sure they would. I laugh at it - it's part of growing up in public.

"I sometimes corner them in the car on the way to school and ask them what they think about the mix of a new song, but I never make them listen to a whole record."

The 45-year-old singer also revealed he is a strict parent and refuses to spoil Stephanie, 14, Jesse, 12, Jacob, five, and three-year-old Romeo with lavish gifts.

Jon won't allow his kids to have credit cards and only recently agreed to buy them mobile phones.

He said "If they see my work ethic, maybe that will instil it in them. I work hard at whatever I do, whether it's the football team, the philanthropic work or making records."

In the UK you have to be 18 to have a credit card - I presume it's the same in the US.
I also read an interview several years ago where Jon said he couldn't understand a text message his daughter was sending, so both parts of the article sound like complete rubbish!

I'm not saying the article is true or not, but it was an Instant Message that he didn't understand. He was looking over her shoulder while she was on the computer.

And the kids could be put on an account along with a parent and allowed to use a credit card, but it wouldn't be solely in their names.

The kid can't have a card in their own name, but the parent can add the kid to their account, and get them cards at any age.

That is correct. When my daughter went to Europe last summer I put her on one of my credit card accounts so that she had emergency access to money if she needed it. She was 17 but you have to be 18 here too.

She will have her own card next month - and then watch out LOL
