Default If you like Puzzles & Bon Jovi here's to combine the two

Me and my friends are really into puzzles and knowing I’m big Bon Jovi fan a friend of mine decided to send these 5 puzzles my way. Each of them refer to a Bon Jovi song title. At first I thought it was stupid until I got into them and found them to be quite clever.
Anyways, I thought I’d share it with you for those who might find it entertaining.
I’ll give the answers to you in a reply post so if you really want to try to solve them and not look for help DON’T Read the next post.

For those who think its silly the explanations of the answers may change your mind.

Puzzle #1

Take one lily and kill my friend Eli
Then borrow some money
To buy what is shared by famous father and son Bruce and Brandon

Puzzle #2

Hide yourself somewhere safe from a hurricane
Then carefully split the number twelve

Puzzle #3

I thought the song sounded like the exact opposite of Always
So I wrote my first three letters to Jon’s childhood address
Only to be politely dismissed

Puzzle #4

They won the first two world cups in 75 and 79 but now they seem to have lost direction
Maybe they need to ask Def Leppard whats missing

Puzzle #5

The doctor wants his money in 365 days

Answers:

Puzzle #1 :

Take one lily and kill my friend Eli
ONE LILY – ELI = ONLY
Then borrow some money
LOAN
To buy what is shared by famous father and son Bruce and Brandon
The last name LEE [Bruce Lee, Brandon Lee]

So you get ONLY LOAN LEE ---Only Lonely

Puzzle #2:

Hide yourself somewhere safe from a hurricane
Safest place from a hurricane is the EYE of a hurricane
Then carefully split the number twelve
Split the number 12 --à 1 and 2

So you get EYE 1 2 = I one two = I want you

Puzzle #3

I thought the song sounded like the exact opposite of Always
Exact opposite of Always is NEVER
So I wrote my first three letters to Jon’s childhood address
Jon’s childhood address Sayreville, New Jersey…first three letters SAY
Only to be politely dismissed
Polite dismissal : GOOD BYE

NEVER SAY GOODBYE

Puzzle #4

They won the first two world cups in 75 and 79 but now they seem to have lost direction
Some cricket knowledge here : West Indies won the world cups. Without the direction (West) they are INDIES
Maybe they need to ask Def Leppard whats missing
Def Leppard is missing one of their drummer’s ARMS

So you get INDIES ARMS…In These Arms

Puzzle #5

The doctor wants his money in 365 days
Doctor’s money is his FEE
365 days is a YEAR

so you get FEE YEAR = Fear

I couldn't solve any of those.... But they're really good, I really like them! The questions didn't make any sense to me, but after reading the solutions I found them really good. Thanks for posting !

I solved the Never Say Goodbye one.
The others were too hard especially when you're lazy and know that the answers are only one post below...

Hey - these were cool! (After a lot of thinking I figured out 4/5.) Just the kind of Bon Jovi activity my brains needed! And inspired by these, I came up with two of my own... They're not as clever/witty as the original ones, hope you like these anyways (should be easier, too). Answers in a reply post.

When hens eject
it's not mine to give.
The clock has them too,
but not underneath.
In Finland there's more than one.

This is very vaguely specified,
but it's almost the number of New Jersey.
This time it is definite,
and it doesn't kill you, but it hurts.

When hens eject = lay
it's not mine to give. = your
The clock has them too, = hands
but not underneath. = on
In Finland there's more than one. =me ('me' means 'we' in Finnish - sorry, this was veeery language-specific)
=Lay your hands on me

This is very vaguely specified, = something
but it's almost the number of New Jersey. = NJ is the album # four, almost that is 'for'
This time it is definite, = the definite article 'the'
and it doesn't kill you, but it hurts. = pain, obviously
=Something for the pain

They're really cool Laura! I'm obviously not good at puzzles like these... didn't solve any of the two of you either. But I really liked them! You guys can start a collection of puzzles like these

Nice ones. I don't know Swedish but got the rest of it to figure out what it was. I like the number for NJ clue ...that had me stumped for a while. Since I lived near there I was thinking phone area codes and things like that.

Alright...i have to throw in three more. I don't think i can come up with any more good ones:

The answers are on the next post.

1.
Clint Eastwood says its not good and its not ugly
But it sure will make you feel better

2.
The Greek call it Sigma, but mathematicians gave it another name
So I asked Morticia and Gomez but they were looking for their pet
Hamlet pondered it or did he not?
It drove Alicia’s friend crazy
But Bilbo said the answer was at the center of his ring

3.
Ask one of the five brothers who live in a shoe
To cut you the second slice of the turkey
And I’ll find the perfect middleman for you and I
To hold our money as we bet on the first half of the rodeo
