of course we got a pair of iPhones last week
but I wouldn't get the engraved ones anyway it would really kill the resale value on something that we will probably upgrade before they die

if at all, it would increase the resale value. The second hand market for electronics is the worst possible. At least with the engraving you'd get some extra bucks when selling it on ebay as Bon Jovi merchandise.

not to argue but apple products hold thier value way better than other electronics as long as they are kept in great condition which is easy with the available applecares warranties
But if the used ipod you are looking to sell has something that makes it desireable to fewer people you decrease your sales pool (and price) for that item.

The U2 ipod sells for less than the same era/generation non U2 version.

Not many change hands but the used BJ VWs didn't sell well either, most who wanted one got one new or waited till they were old and cheap to buy.

Tell me about it... with the current exchange rate I'd be paying more than double the regular price, and that's before shipping.

They do look pretty cool though.
