Default All about the font?

What happened to the Bon Jovi logo font used in the 80's & 90's?

Last seen on the 'These Days' album.

Since 2000 we have the boring aerial block Bon Jovi.

Give us the bloody font back please, you don't see Def Leppard, Iron Maiden, AC/DC etc giving it up.

When Bon Jovi dropped it after 'These Days' was when they stopped caring about the die hards IMO and were more interested in pulling in new fans.

Yeah, I miss that too. I was great to have a logo!

Yes, it was great. Loved that font, and wish they still used it but it won't happen. But I don't think it meant that they didn't care about the die-hards. I think they just wanted to make it a bit more modern.

To be honest, I'm pissed off with them for trying to be "modern" all the bloody time. It's getting so they care so much about what others think. Even if they say they don't, they blatantly do. Things like this thread, and the thread about their style kinda shows it. I know people change, and I certainly don't expect them to dress as they did in the 80's. But it does seem they're losing their roots. Or already lost them even. Why do they keep trying to appeal to modern audiences, and change things like this. It really is a shame, IMO. And this goes a lot further than just a font, or what they wear, lol.

Why do they keep trying to appeal to modern audiences? So they don't become a nostalgia band. If you aren't constantly trying to remain relevent then what's the point in bothering anymore? I'd hate them to become one of those ridiculous bands that haven't changed a jot since the 80's but are worshipped by Metal Sludge and its fans for being cool.

It was used primarily on the This Left Feels Right Live DVD and on the Have A Nice Day EPK DVD, so the font still crops up here and there. I wish they'd still use it for all their albums though, regardless of what kind of album they release.

if you search the forums you can find a thread where you download and use the Bon Jovi font, These Days, and even the Richie font.

I'm wearing that Tee-Shirt RIGHT NOW. LOL
In any case, I prefer the old font as well, but I think saying "They dropped the font because they don't care about diehards" is stupid as all hell.
FTR, I've seen that font on several tee shirts this tour.
I own two of them in fact.
