Default banned jovi lyrics

I've notice in recent years that many other people on this board have shared my sentimenthat that the band has been guilty of recycling material/concepts . I made a small list of words/phrases that should be banned in further use in bon jovi songs so that they can push themselves a little more. I know that this is a somewhat of an unpractical or silly concept, but i thought it would make good discussion.

-life
-"live my life"
-"stand my ground"
-any reference to whiskey

Concert Banter: Let's turn it up/blow the roof off this joint

Lyrics: "I know I'll get by"

"Get up off your knees"

Anything about "belief" or "believing".

"Halle Halle"

Time being tough.

Being "worth the fight".

Anything Jon can put a stupid country twang on.

Anything that sounds stupid/bad grammar. - "What do you got if you ain't got love".

Anything that makes Jon sound like he has a speech impediment - Intro to I Love this town.

Stupid overused crowd chants - "It's alrite, alrite, alrite, alrite".

Default Banned lyrics

How about:

1. reference to roses
2. reference to good shit being gone
3. reference to wildflowers
4. grabbing his crotch during concert-- not appropriate for someone working with Obama.
5. making believe that the song they are about to play was totally random and not planned.
6. reference to the working man-homeless man-----

I know there are lots more.....................

In all honesty I don't think there is much of fresh stuff *said* at the shows ... the talking is way more formatted programed repeated stuff than any of the patterned lyrics
the best example of patterned blah blah and programmed banters is bad medicine ...The talking is much more obviously false and on repeat than ANY SONG .... and work for the working man DRAMA is not worse or more fake than the FUN on bad medicine imo.

The chosen themas are all the same yes , especially for the last decade but those songs are though also what makes bon jovi , bon jovi so we cannot really disagree with this in full.

(we can though expect for different rhymes from time to time ....Bon Jovi lyrics are good but lose their power being too repetitive and predictable- superman themas I won't break I won't accept to be treated badly by the system etc )

They need to stop the 'live my life' and 'I'll do it my way' crap. As well as the 'get off your knees'. That's been pushed so far they are flogging a dead horse.

And as for Jon grabbing his crotch, I love that! His little leap in the air, one arm goes up and the other goes SLAP!!! between his legs. It's his ball slap, haha.

At least that's the one I'm thinkin' of!

sorry for the hi jack .... but .....
I don't think Jon grab his crotch that much ... he has a routine on stage that shows a lot of body language , but the crotch grabbing is merely done ...
He does that from time to time but not often .The one hand in the air the other hand down toward his lower body is NOT crotch grabbing ; technically he doesn't grab nor slap anything it's more like he pull down his tee shirt or shirt to cover himself than a grab or a slap in my honest opinion ..

The other day there was on YT a video of bad medicine in australia , I think , where he did grab his crotch .And you can be assured that this video made a buzz all over facebook because it is not usual on Jon (I know he did it also at the philly soundcheck on the lost highway tour as again that episode made a fuss because it is not something Jon does much .. he is not Michael Jackson crotch grabbing is not in his routine )

Default Crotch slap?

I wasn't talking about his usual crotch slap--
I was referring to the crotch GRAB he did in Australia on one of the videos. That was the first time I had ever seen him do that. What kind of fuss was in the press in Australia about it?
Any clue on why he did it during that performance?

It was during the song Old Time Rock N' Roll and in reference to "today's" music and he let his feelings be shown, how he felt about today's music!! There was no fuss about it, in the press.
