Could be a record that's full of rock songs.

BUT NOT JUST ANY OLD ROCK SONGS. NO.

Rock songs with RIFFS. Bon Jovi always like to try out new things.

You bounce to club music, not guitar riffs.

Ok but what does it mean when Jon says it's gonna be a "Riff Rock Record"?

It means that the record is filled with rock orientated riffs. A riff is something like the guitar you hear in Homebound Train or the heavy intro in Undivided. However, Jon has often said stuff like this before and we've never really had a riff rock record.

Salaam Aleikum,
Sebastiaan

riffs can be something as simple and straight forward as Aerosmth's Mama Kin, a little more involved ala ac/dc's That's the Way I Wanna Rock & Roll; and then there is the classic intro riff to Guns n' Roses Sweet Child o' Mine. Metallica's black album, that is a riff rock record imo, it has picking riffs & power chord riffs; pretty much from start to finish. on a side note, the black album has a great drum sound.

Bon Jovi certainly has the capabilities to do such a record; ie I'd die for you, if i was your mother & unbreakable, to name just a few.

Unbreakable doesn't have a riff. It's all chords-based.
