Bon Jovi Private Concert in Houston Last Night
Last Night Bon Jovi gave a private concert last night for law form Lanier who normally hire a major rock band for their XMAS party every year

quite disgusted that with all the money they have they would consent to do a corporate gig. Why do it apart from the $?

Doing a concert is hardly "doing everything for the money" - after all, it basically is what they do.
Taking it from a law firm most probably for charitable purposes - sorry, but I can't see too much wrong with that.

Lots of bands including Rolling Stones and Metallica do corporate gigs Most of money does go to charity though

Agreed - when I sang with a band (a million years ago) we all dreamed of landing gigs like this. They are a band for hire - simple as that.

Default Corporate Gig for the Money? Not.
I don't agree that they did the law firm XMAS party "for the money'. How much could this firm pay them to fly out to Houston for one show after doing SNL the night before?

So many of you are complaining that the band is money driven. At their age, why would they knock themselves out running all over the country and world if they didn't truly love what they were doing and had a burning need to keep doing it as long as they physically could? Don't forget that there is the ambitious, workaholic Jon pushing them to get more recognition for their accomplishments- whether from critics or fans, and to keep going and going...

They would only turn down the private party if they had a better gig. Jon is going to keep pushing them as long as he can. It gets to a point where money is just not enough to make you keep doing something over and over- unless you love it or have a need to do it. After last night, more people got to see them and hear them. That is what they care about now.

A few years back there was interview with Dave Grohl where quoted $500,000 for an hour long corporate show, so a ballpark would have to be $1-$2mill.

Pretty much any band worth getting asked does corporate gigs.

It's a non issue.

They did them on the last tour as well.

Yes that probably in range of $1-$2 million
