Default The Distance

Could this song be about long distance relationships?

I always thought it was. Like the bit before the last chorus - DONT LET IT DIE. Few other bits as well.

Right now I feel like like that... And I love it even more!

Close your eyes and see my blue skies breaking through these dark clouds
You are the light
In my mind I see your red dress and your arms are reaching through the night
I'll never give up the fight
I'll go the distance

There's a thread that runs between us pulling 'cross this great divide
It's only there for the believers
Don't stop believing, don't stop believing

There's a neverending story that begins with you and I
Like the rose outside your window
Don't let it die, don't let it die

i always took it metaphorically, never saw it that way but the lyrics do make sense in that context.

Remember Richie said in an interview that he had the picture of a soldier leaving home, telling his wife " I'll go to distance, wait for me to come back". Makes pretty much sense.

Awesome song

I thought "I'll go the distance" was an American saying, which meant "I'll do what it takes".
