[The Northern Cowboy]

Hey guys,

So I just had a listen to WDYG on the actual Greatest Hits, and noticed right away that it sounded different from the version I downloaded. I compared it, and sure enough the MP3 version from the BonJovi.com pre-order has a very odd sound in the higher frequencies. I don't know how to describe it, but it's almost like an additional echo sound. It sounds horrible. I listened to TIOH, and I think it's present there as well.

Has anyone else noticed this? I don't think it's my computer, as I ripped the Greatest Hits disc to MP3 and it sounds fine.

I also noticed this on the single version of Lay Your Hands On Me, present on disc 1. It's driving me MAD.

So I just opened up WDYG from bonjovi.com and WDYG from the Greatest Hits in Audacity, and there are differences in the soundwaves too. Does no one else hear the difference? =/

I actually downloaded them but never really listened - I can check out the differences. I have programs to do that. But I have to say (one more time) that I hate mp3s just for this reason. It's a re-encode that really is at the expense of the high end frequency's and doesn't do music any favors.

I also hear it on Lay Your Hands On Me from disc one. =/
