Default Do you remember the first time...

... you heard each album? I mean people say they don't want to spoil the excitement by downloading the songs before the album is released but is the day really so big? Do you remember the first time you heard Keep the Faith (the album) for example? I don't. The only albums I really remember when I listened to them for the first time are Crush, Blaze Of Glory and New Jersey. The others - no idea I mean that I really can point out where and when it happened.

I heard that the lyrics are gonna be available at bonjovi.com by the end of the month, are you guys gonna read them? I am.

Default the first impression ;)

I'm not gonna read all the lyrics before I hear the songs, but that doesn't mean I'm not gonna download some songs (or at least some clips!) off the internet. It's more fun that way, to know something that the "regular" people (who will buy the record out of curiosity or something) don't know, LOL.

I remember the very first time I heard the albums (the first impression, the couple of seconds before I fell in love with the songs)!

These Days - what is this shit?

Slippery - oh, cool, 80's!

**embarrassed**

Yep, I do.

I bought NJ and SWW on the same day because, even though I'd wanted SWW for a long time, I didn't have the "financial freedom" to get it.

I got BJ and 7800 about a month later, also at the same time. I remember sitting on the swing in our front yard and listening to them.

I got Blaze of Glory one day when I went back-to-school shopping with my best friend. I constantly read the lyrics while she was trying on clothes and I finally got to listen to it as we left the mall.

I got KTF the day of the elections in 1992. My dad had run for a position, so I listen to it as we prepared for a reception. Some guys from my class came by to get free food and I basically ignored them while I was listening to the songs. LOL

I remember listening to These Days for the first time driving home from Jackson.

I got Destination Anywhere on a stormy morning and realized I was nuts because I went out with tornado watches to get it.

The first time I heard Undiscoverd Soul was driving back to college on a Sunday. I ordered a Japanese copy for a friend in Canada (because it would cost her less that way) and, of course, copied it before I sent it to her. I bought it for myself the same day I bought Madonna's Ray of Light CD and I also found a Powerstation Years CD in the store and bought it and felt guilty for putting money in Tony Bongiovi's pocket. LOL But it was there and my resistance was weak.

Now Crush was kind of ruined for me because someone sent me an advanced copy on a lousy Memorex cassette tape. So as badly as I didn't want to listen to it, knowing the sound would be kind of lacking, I still did it anyway. LOL

I still know it, because I just became a BJ fan in the mid 90's which isn't that long ago. Well, it's quite easy to tell. I listened to all the albums in my room. that's it. I bought Crush in France (I was there as an exchange student for 2 weeks) the day it came out. I didn't have the possibility to listen to it there. I only brought a walkman for cassettes and I didn't want to listen to the long awaited BJ album in the living room of that French family with all that noise and 4 BJ unexperienced French people around (they were really nice, just a little "old fashioned", I think this describes it pretty well). So I had to wait 3 long long days which I spent watching the cover again and again, imagining how the songs might sound etc. Man was I lucky when I finally got home again, hehe...

ktf, Johannes

I do remember some of them more clearly than others.

My first Bon Jovi encounter was in 1992 and I was twelve years old. I was at my older brothers apartment for the day and he had bought this new cd called "Keep The Faith". He said it was really good so I popped it into the cd-player and hit 'play'. After one minute listening I was hooked, for life! I guess that's also why the song "I Believe" is one of my all time favourites, it was the first Bon Jovi song I listened to!

This was in November 1992 and on Christmas Eve the following month I got the albums "Keep The Faith" and "Bon Jovi" by my parents. So when I got home, it was all listen listen listen!

My next CD was "New Jersey" and I bought that one the following spring, in 1993. I was in town with a friend of mine when buying it and I remember liking it very much when playing it at home the same afternoon.

After that I bought Fahrenheit and Slippery the same year and the year after Crossroad came out. Then I also heard the news about them playing in Sweden in 1995, so that ended up being the first time seeing them live!
Also, when I bought TD in june 1995 I remember standing outside the record shop the day of the album release. But I was so dissapointed when I came inside, they still hadn't recieved the album. But it did come in later that day so all was well!

After that came the soloalbums (especially remember DA that I bought while on vacation in south of Sweden) and then after a long hiatus the awaited Crush!

So that's my story, quite short but informative..

i remember getting "these days" it was the day after the concert in belgium '95.
the thing i remember the most is listening to the single "this ain't a love song" i just went and bought without hearing it first. and like the title said, i thought it WASN'T gonna be a love song.
so i got goosebumps when i listened to it.
