Default Alec John Such - Dead???

Hello,
I was shocked when I read this article that was posted by someone on the messageboard of the German BJ site (www.bonjovi.de):

COLTS NECK, NJ (CNN) -- Alec, John Such, ex bassist and one of the founding members of the rock band Bon Jovi, was found dead in his New Jersey home, the Los Angeles coroner's office said Wednesday. He was46.
Alec left Bon Jovi in 1994, after they released their Best of album,
Crossroad. Since then he has managed a couple of local Jersey bands and he also owned a motorcycle shop Alec's death apparently was the result of an accidental drug overdose, said Katie Elliot, spokeswoman for Bon Jovi management. Jon Bon Jovi could not be reached for comment but is said to be deeply saddened by the news of the death. Drug paraphernalia, including a syringe, reportedly were found in the kitchen of the home. Elliot said it is not known what kind of drug was involved.
The Associated Press reported the bassist was found dead Tuesday morning by his ex wife.
The coroner's office did not say what drug was suspected of causing Alec's death, the AP reported. An autopsy was performed Tuesday evening, but conclusions about the cause of death were deferred pending toxicological tests, spokesman David Campbell told the AP. Those results could take several weeks.

Here is the link to the post on the messageboard (no link to the source of this article available (yet)): http://www.bonjovi.de/vorum/showthre...=&threadid=183

If it's true, it's very very sad and my sympathies are with Alec's family. But it's hard to believe because neither on Backstage nor on Bon Jovi.com is any comment about that...

Well nothing has been mentioned on official site so I guess it's just somebody´s sick joke.

Unfortunately it isn't conclusively saying that the rumour is wrong. I hope this is a mistake, or a sick joke. (If it is, the person who thought it should be severely ashamed of themself.)

KTF.

Thanks for posting it, Love2Rock. It was really hard to believe and considering how often there were rumours about death or accidents of other BJ memebers this really could be fake.

The post originally comes from the Newsgroup alt.musi.bonjovi. Someone found it funny to post things like that. This happens from time to time. Richie died in 1998 in Sweden while he was in Japan and he sits in a wheelchair since 2000 or 2001 because he drove drunk from Al Gore's party in Jon's house and got in a car accident. These "news" were in the same newsgroup and there was also a reliable newspaper given as the source.

The newsgroup is full of trolls who find things like that funny. Please don't believe everything that stands there.

yours
Christine

Well...it shouldn't have even gotten this far.....

You have to pay attention to the details given. First of all...it does not even read as a professional news item. The structure, vocabulary and details do not make sense.

But you don't even have to go that far into the "article" if you paid attention to the opening statement where a Los Angeles Coroner is involved in a death that supposedly happened in New Jersey.

That's all very true... but when you're hit with a headline that someone you care about is found dead, the "details" kind of blur as you read it. Know what I mean? Now I'm like, "well, duh!" re-reading it, but the story was numbing--both phyiscally and mentally.

But I guess causing that kind of pain and fear is what the sicko who came up with it was after huh?
