As I said before... I just recorded the original cassettes from a cassette player, with my phone, then I posted them in instagram. And I know that reduces the quality. And I can’t say more about it. And there are SO MUCH better things in life than those samples... LOL...

I know. I'm not saying the degradation because of the way you recorded it, I'm saying it happened from years passing. Your way is going to capture the sound but the tapes are probably warped over time. Your quality is great. I'm sure there's a lot of great stuff there.

I love the Hamburg ‘08 performance. Personal favourite is actually Yokohama ‘96 2. That show gets a bad rep but I like it

Mannheim 2011 gave me goosebumps. It felt like a train passing over us. It kicked ass.

I think the problem with that show is that the band were just going through the motions after two huge tours. It was musically fine but I get the impression the band were bored, especially Jon who was in his full on actor mode. I still enjoy the show for what it is though, the band are really tight.

I got that autopilot feeling from Yokohama 1996 as well, but it may also have been due to the fact that they knew they were being recorded. They never left their comfort zone in those cases. When they went to Europe afterwards, there were many breathtaking performances that definitely were more than going through the motions. Just listened to Frankfurt 1996 in full today, that was just out of this world for the whole three hours!

They were just a little rusty at the start of the tour. And out of the 3 Yokohama shows the one broadcast on TV was easily the worst. The other shows were better as well. Something To Believe In from Fukuoka is better than the rendition that made it on the live record. Richie blew his voice out though.

Salaam Aleikum,
Sebastiaan
