In the USA it was for SWW. But, when SWW was released they were opening for .38 Special. It turned out people were showing up for Bon Jovi and leaving before .38 Special.

According to Jon, their first time ever headlining an arena was in Helsinki, Finland 1985. Amazing 300+ people showed up

I don't know if it's the first ever really, it seems like BJ are confusing these things, too...

I saw Jon with just 300 people and it was amazing--definitely my favorite concert experience. But I feel guilty for saying that because the rest of the guys weren't there. So my favorite band experience is still St. Louis 2000.

The Christmas show in Atlanta 94 was the largest of the Christmas shows and it was 6,000 people. It still seemed like a "small" setting.

It definitely was in 1985, their first headline in a show. I don't know about a real tour, tho.
