it's too hard ... or i'm too demanding.
But I need good lyrics, the melody is also important and good guitar, especially a really good solo, the voice too ... i can't vote

To me it's the melody, because when hearing a song for the first time, that's usually what makes me interested in a song. But shortly after I'll pay more attention to the lyrics... With songs from bands / bands I already knew for a while the lyrics are more important to me than the melody though.

well. i voted for lyrics, because agood lyrics can reach my heart.... but my answer might have been different if I was a musician. If I could play music I might see all the technical achievement behind a good solo and would probably a good solo is more meaningful!

Anyway, to make a good song you need all! even if a song has amazing lyrics is themusic is lousy, then that's not a good song!

I'm probably in the minority, but to me it's the vocals/lyrics. I can listen to almost any KIND of music, any sound if it's telling something I want to hear and/or the vocalist is someone I enjoy listening to.

Lyrics, which most modern songs lack. Such as death metal bands and stuff where u can't even understand what they are saying.

So i think the ,elody and the riffs are most important but a good solo can sasve a bad song.
1)melody/riffs
2)solo
3)voice
4)lyrics

Lyrics can also save a crapy song but ROCK N'ROLL is all about GUITARS so....
