Default Why not much good music is coming?

I don't see any good music coming these days. Most of them are rap or R&B which is hitting the top of the charts these days, which actuly suck big time. In rock also i don't like any new acts that much also. I think late 80s and early 90s are very good time for rock music and also for whole music industry.Even BJ's music also during keep the faith and cross road is my fav time of music.
I'm really waiting fo rock age to come back.

yes, it's really depressing, nothing is good enough now to give you the need to buy the album ... maybe Live, it's true ... but what we can hear on radio or tv is sooooooooo bad

where's the music gone ???

I believe there are still good rock music available.
They are just not mainstream and you have to dig deeper to find them.

The bad thing about music industry now is: it perceives what can be shopped as a 'trend' and blatantly exploits the trend until it dies. Unfortunately the trend now does not have much to do with rock music.

Combined with the media's penchant for labelling certain genre of music as 'obsolete' or 'over', this can't be good for those genres that are being discriminated against.

I am still wondering WHY can't the music industry try to have different musical genres at the same time, in order to cater to everybody's tastes. I believe this will bring even more revenue to the industry. Let the Billboard chart have rap, melodic rock, r n b, glam, grunge, pop, jazz, blues, disco, metal etc at the same time.

Of course as rock music fans, it doesn't help the genre if you judge certain bands are 'so dated in the 80s' without even giving chance to their most recent musical output. This just propagates the stereotypes painted by the media.

So it's a combination of factors.

It is hard for me to listen to a Top 40 station (I force myself to hear Misunderstood every now and then) or even current rock station when I compare them to the music of the 70's and 80's so I tend to listen to an 80's 90's and today kind of station or classic rock on the radio and then I get bored because it is nothing new. But the new stuff isn't so hot- LOL! Actually I find I like some country music these days over the Top 40 stations here in town. I still can't figure out why Bounce isn't doing better when it is head and shoulder better than most of the new music out there. There is some good music but it is hard to find.
