Default I'll Be There For You

What do you all think of this live?

more specifically - what do you think of the recent versions (last 3 years) compared to the 1988-91 tour ??

i'd like to hear your thoughts on this

Again, as with LIS this would be in my top 10 for live tracks. It's just so darn powerful. Jon's voice again, is great, with Richie doing great backing vocals. The beet is very powerful, again thanks to Tic!

Once again, I'm drawn to the scream. Obviously great studio, but when he does it live..... You know it's coming, and it sounds great, then he keeps on doing it!!! The best version(s) I've heard have been around the Giants Stadium shows..... when they were doing the build up, all the music stops, whilst Jon does an increadible scream, then comes crashing back in. This really is one of Bon Jovi's best ever moments....... I'm off to watch the Giants version now!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yah! The difference between IBTFY now and then is HUGE!

I must say I like the old version much better. It got worse already during KTF tour. Though the Yokohama ī96 version is very good.

Jonīs voice was much rawer then, and I think it fits to this song better like that. Nowadays(e.g. The Crush Tour DVD) itīs just quite boring actually. Jon can sing it, yeah, but he really canīt keep up the same pace as he used to, which I find sad because it takes a lot way from this track.

Here was my one euro.

I forgot to talk about the new version, but I agree with Late, it was pretty bad. It's one I was looking forward to hearing, but it was very weak on the Crush DVD, then at Milton Keynes it was just very very dull, I think they played it as the first enchore as well..... Jon could't' get the scream, and didn't put anythign into the vocals, no power like their used to be. The raw edge Bon jovi had on the rock ballads has gone.

I'd like this song to be droped to be honest, I don't think it workes anymore, or if they do do it again, just go for it!

I think the best versions I have heard are the one from Giants Stadium in 2001 and one I have on a Keep the Faith tour bootleg. The old versions are in no way better, meaning from the Jersey tour. I have heard 6 different version from bootlegs I have, and EVERY time Jon goes flat on the scream, and I mean BAD! Jon missed the scream, as well, on the Crush Tour DVD, but usually, he hit it on that tour. I saw them in Charlotte, in Nov. of 2000, and he nailed it. Go watch the Giants Stadium show (I have a bootlegged version on DVD) and it is awesome. But whatever, we all will be disagreeing on this topic, that is just our nature here! It isn't the time frame of when they played it I believe, it is just based on the day. Somedays, Jon hits the scream, and others, he doesn't. I always found it funny though that on the Crush tour DVD they kept that on there, because that isn't one of the best performances of the song. Honestly, I always felt that DVD wasn't all that great anyway. I have seem them play MUCH better, on every tour. They were AWESOME last weekend in Charlotte. The best I have ever seen them. I think the Bounce tour will end up being one of their best.

Well I'll Be There For You from New Jersey 2001 is my favourite, I don't like the 80ties version of this song at all.
