I'm sure they'll have thought of that when designing them and done them so that they don't open in such a wide arc that you can't get easily in or out near other cars. I find it difficult enough getting out of a normal car when it's parked too close to others.

Not true. Opening a door sideways takes just as much space as this one does.

difference is though, if you have minimum space to open it; you can quite easily get out a normal door, if it's only opened a little, while it's hard to get out of one of these when the doors are just opened slightly

I can squeeze in and out of a quarter of the door opening of a regular door, but certainly not out of a quarter of this one.... So, no, it does take more room if you want to get in and out of it.
