My feelings on "Crush"...half a year later...
Six months since the relase of "Crush" have gone by now, and I wanted to put in some thoughts about it. I'm glad to see that it's done very well for the guys, especially since the music industry has changed. As I quote Jon what he said at the Los Angeles,CA concert-- "We've only been gone for 5 years, and the best you could do was get boy bands?..well, this is a MAN'S band...." Well said, Jon!!! Of course, I do collect singles from songs, and as we all know, there are some demos and outtakes on these singles. I have two different singles for "Say It Isn't So". One of them has the demos for "Ain't No Cure For Love" and "Stay".The other version of the "Say It Isn't So" single has "Ordinary People" and "Welcome To The Good Times"....Then some time later, I found the "It's My Life" single, with the demos for "Hush" and "You Can't Lose At Love"...Now I was wondering, why didn't some of these songs make it on "Crush"??? I think if they were put on the album instead of "She's A Mystery", "Mystery Train", "I Got The Girl", I would have liked it even more. Hopefully, they'll mabey be put on their next album. I think the song "Neurotica" should have made it on there too. Although it does sound like something that could have been on one of their older albums like "New Jersey" or "These Days". Don't get me wrong, I still love the album, still think there are brilliant songs on there, but as a friend of mine asked "Why didn't they use a Pizza Parlor Jury like they did for the making of "Slipper When Wet"? Oh well, I am still looking forward to the next album, and hopefully, we won't have to wait another five years.....
Until next time,
Keep The Faith Always!!
