30 June 2001 - München (Munich), Germany Concert Review 3 July 2001
The very best!!!!!

A review by A believer

I've seen 12 Bon Jovi Shows since 1993, but the last Saturday in Munich was the highlight of everything I've been through yet. The Olympic stadium was sold out (a great stadium, you'll get goose pimples just by walking in the arena). 72000 believers were ready fot the last night of the European part of the tour.

And the beginning was fantastic. Gotthard, a rock-band from Switzerland, did a great job and you could feel that tension was rising....until Stereophonics. Sorry, but they were shit once again! I've seen them 4 times this year and they even get worse from time to time. They did their best to KILL the great mood in the audience, but they failed, cause nobody really noticed them.

And finally at about 20.35 the Jovis entered the stage and the Olympic stadium took off!!! I won't try to describe the energy that you feel when you see 72000 maniacs rocking in this impressing stadium, you have to be there to feel it...
Bon Jovi rocked the night away and it was obvious that the guys enjoyed this atmosphere, too. Unfortunately they couldn't use their usual pyros (maybe because of the stadium-roof that was very near to the stage) but in that night nobody cared about it. My personal highlights once again were "Raise your hands", "Captain Crash" (Everybody waved their hands) and "Bad medicine" with "Shout". The croud went absolutely nuts and I've seen nobody who wasn't jumping and screaming their lungs out.

But the highlight was about to come. During "Wanted" the warm weather (everybody was wet from sweating) turned into a major thunderstorm with lightning and a cloud burst. The rain seemed to make the croud even hotter. Most people took on their rain clothing, others TOOK OFF their Shirts and took an open air-shower.

It was unbelievable. The guys seemed to enjoy it too. Jon fell on his knees and shouted to heaven: "Yes I believe now!!". "Living on a prayer!": pure madness in the crowd. "Sleep when I'm dead": nobody who was not dancing in the rain. "Tequila"/"Twist and Shout": 144000 hands up in the air. Everybody thought that this was the end, but the croud was so loud that the guys were stunned, they just could't leave the stage. Extra encore: "I'll be there for you"!!!! Goose pimples once again. Everybody singing: "OOOHHH OOOHHH OOOHHH...."

Then it was over.
Thank you guys for great wild nights in Germany this year.
It's so hard letting you go but the hope to see you soon again is burning in our hearts. We will keep the faith 4ever!!!!!
