DC rocked!
Wash DC was rockin' last night! Despite what some may say, Goo Goo Dolls were really good. I thought they did an excellent job of bringing their songs to life live, rather than just play the way the songs are recorded on cds...
Our Jersey boys, on the other hand, are true headliners! They sounded crisp, together, and Jon's voice seemed to be clearer than in past shows (which is ironic since I've been reading that he's been suffering a cold this week). At the very end of the show, Richie gave him a look as they were taking their bows almost as if to say that Jon had done more than necessary vocally for the night (another suggestion that maybe Jon was struggling)...but he didn't show it! The enthusiasm of the band was outstanding, the guys all sounded great (instrument-wise and musically) and David's intro to "Right Side of Wrong" was very cool!
It's like during "Jersey," "Faith," and "These Days," tours, BJ highlighted Tico's drumming intro (Lay Your Hands On Me) and Richie's guitar intro (Wanted Dead or Alive), so it was a pleasant surprise (and long overdue) that BJ highlights David's piano playing. I also love the re-make versions of "Undivided" and "The Distance" for concerts! |
