14 April 2003 - Portland, OR, USA Concert Review 18 April 2003
My first Bon Jovi concert ever!!

A review by Carole

This was my first chance ever to get to see Bon Jovi live in concert! I've waited a long time, and never expected that I'd get to see them in my own home state. All in all, the concert was fabulous and I'm so glad to have had the opportunity to attend. Every band member gave their all, but Jon really put himself out there, which is what he does best. The piano solo that David Bryan did, as well as Richie's lead on 'I'll Be There for You', were nice 'in between' breaks. We (husband is also a fan) were surprised, but pleased, that the band performed so much of their older material in addition to that associated with 'Bounce'. Each of us got to hear our respective favorites. And the tribute to Sept. 11th that swept across the screens, though sobering, was very fitting to a nation that has been through so much in the past two years.

We had great seats, just off to the right of the stage. My one complaint would be that I don't feel that the satellite screens were utilized as well as they could have been. Although I know that bands play mainly to the center of the audience, I had hoped that with the huge screens that those of us seated on the sides would get more views.

Even at that, I would not hesitate to attend another concert. I hope I get the chance again some day soon. I was floored by the show, and I had a great time nonetheless. Bon Jovi rules!!

Oregon loves you guys!!
