17 January 2006 - Atlanta, GA, USA Concert Review 18 January 2006
Flat out incredible performance

A review by Alex

My first Bon Jovi concert, simply amazing. The wife and I had lower level dead center seats behind the soundboard and they could not have sounded better. He opened up in the middle of the audience and even did another set during the show amidst the crowd.

Livin on a prayer is sill ringing in my head as is It's My Life. I wasn't sure if was going to be able to hit as many notes as he did after rocking for over two hours, but he was right on. There was a bit of sound trouble during the second time he went into the audience but nothing terribly noticeable.

The playlist was everything you could ask for. Enough classics and new stuff to make the night the perfect Bon Jovi mix. He is an amazing entertainer. He knows how to play to a crowd and his show is much more than just the music that is played. He interacted with his band so well as he did also the crowd. At times it seemed that he has a camera in his closet where he can watch himself getting dressed, because he was way to good at raping the camera with his expressions and waiting to play off the crowd response, but I just thought it made the show witty and all the more enjoyable.

He had some great one liners - maybe picked up from the road - but funny nonetheless. He was shaking hands and high fiving in the crowd when one girl who was a few rows back kept trying to reach his hand. He took one look at her, so desperate to get a touch, that he finally gave in to her demands and left back to stage with "hey baby! it ain't scratch'n sniff!".

Overall a top three concert - the wife and I are hitting next month's show as well so we're just as excited to go to that one as we were this one. The boss better not need me for anything remotely important is all I have to say.

If you're still wondering about going to next month's, the doubts stop here. Bon Jovi rocked it...he rocked it great...and he rocked it long...outstanding performance.
