This was the 3rd Jovi gig I'd been to. It was the best. The band were on the best form they've been for a good few years. Jon's voice is back up there with the best, the set was tight, the sound was faultless and it was all amazingly great FUN! The only thing was, it seemed to take a while to get going - the fact that the gig started in daylight didn't help, plus the walkway completely blocked our view, but around the time Richie sang 'I'll Be There For You' and then the band ripped into 'Bad Medicine', the crowd lapped it up and continued to do so for the rest of the night.
A few good surprises too, 'In These Arms' and a brilliant version of 'These Days' especially warrant a mention. And quite the best versions of 'Livin' On A Prayer', 'Bad Medicine' and 'Blood On Blood' I've heard.
I really enjoyed myself, looking forward to the next record and tour already! Keep the faith, God bless. |
