Exactly my thoughts. Power of radio is still strong today due to habits, commuting time, travelling, listening while working in office also, etc.

I will give example of Croatia, even though its a small market and perhaps not a generalization. But in regards to domestic (Croatian and Ex-Yugoslavia) new music released, often strong differentiation exist here between what's very popular on radio versus what people stream, exactly due to influence of record companies and their ties to program editors on prominent radio station. So on official chart there would be like several out of 10 songs in top10, that are nowhere to be found on real streaming (Billboard) lists of top40. In fact, this Billboard list is relatively new, and finally we have indication what is really popular (versus official charts of radio "hits").

In that line of thinking, I am somewhat perplexed by lack of Jovi radio power in last decade, at least in first few weeks when single is released, as Jovi has a major global company behind them. Of course, I'm not surprised by lack of hits, just perhaps so little radio time. Then again, I don't have any data on how much radio stations are playing their new singles, but it would show up on some charts if they did surely?

For Bon Jovi it's doing decent on Youtube 2.1 million views.

I know a lot of that came from the press and promo for the 40th anniversary and the doc but to put into perspective, When We Were Us was uploaded six years ago and is at 3.2 million and that was on the backs of the Hall of Fame promo/THINFS re-release.

I think in this day and age YouTube hits and Spotify plays is a much better gauge of how a song is doing for a band like Jovi, rather than Chart Positions and Radio play.

Agreed, but aren't that also used for chart positions? Especially Spotify streaming?

Yes, but the numbers Bon Jovi do won't compete with what younger artists with a younger fan base do. The won't make a real dent in the mainstream singles charts in this day and age. The albums charts matter for a band like Bon Jovi, but the singles charts don't anymore.

Legendary will be released on a 2-tracks vinyl on the same day as the album. The 2nd track is the radio edit.

Probably a weird thing to ask, but am I missing some sort of twist in between the lines when it comes to the lyrics? Because all there is to them at face value is "don't even try, there ain't more to this, be content with the little life you have, your friends and your home town".

Which clashes heavily with the whole "spread your wings, dare to dream, life is limitless, we weren't born to follow" themes of before, but I don't see Jon as the kinda guy who would use biting sarcasm to make fun of people who think like that, seeing how he "loves this town" as well and all that shit. It's really quite bizarre. What are the lyrics trying to say?

You're right in fact, it's the part until pre-chorus that's very odd and different vibe than rest of the song. In the rest, I get it, it's the optimistic way of saying it's good, you're good as it is, enjoy it, etc. But first verse is like mocking ambition or will to try to change anything

This song certainly isn't an It's My Life style song of optimism and dreams. I see it as more akin to Prayer, Work For The Workin Man type of song that tries to relate to the everyday person. To me it says you may not have was you always dreamt of, and it may not have been an easy ride, but what you've got ain't so bad. It's a good life with good friends and a good woman, so appreciate it and enjoy what you have.

My only problem with it is the word Legendary. I don't think it really fits with what the song is about and it sounds like it was just inserted into it because it sounds cool...
