Default Entertainment Weekly review

From the 11-07-03 issue:

On TLFR, nice-guy pop-metal survivors Bon Jovi reinvent their youthful mall epics as acoustic adult reflections. Except for the druid-dancing WDOA, and the raspy, honky-tonk Bad Name, their arena-shouters--always more Springsteen than Whitesnake--reveal surprising pathos. As a ballad, LOAP becomes a vow renewal and BTBMB is darkened by an ominous twang. The band's quest for meaning mostly pays off, though in this context, their occassional mentions of God take on an oddly evangelical tinge. B-, Laura Sinagra

Becky I hope you don't mind but I was so happy with this review I posted it on Backstage. Remember how they gave Bounce a D? This is truly amazing!

Thanks for the review Becky. So far, things are looking good for TLFR, at least to the media.

Well I don't think it's that bad for Entertainment Weekly. Most of their reviews are pretty nasty. Keep the Faith and These Days each got a D.

Really? Well I guess a B- is good then. Dumb magazine.

Just the fact that EW got someone other than David Browne review TLFR is an improvement. They didn't get the two page spread they usually get when he trashes them, but at least this reviewer stood a chance of not having her mind made up before she listened to the CD.
