I've really gone off Pink Floyd in recent times. The only album of theirs I like is Piper At The Gates Of Dawn, although they made some decent music throughout the 70s. It's baffling how they continued with both of their good songwriters gone. They did a good job without Syd for a while, but what on earth possessed them to carry on as Pink Floyd after Roger left? Divison Bell is an absolutely dreadful album.

Partial to a bit of Syd Barrett solo, though.

I haven't heard A Momentary Lapse Of Reason yet so I can't defend that, but The Division Bell has some brilliant songs on it. It took a while to grow on me, but when it did it was wonderful..

It's not as creative as previous albums that Roger Waters worked on, but the songs work on their own.

Wearing The Inside Out, with lead vocals by the late, great Richard Wright, is a beautifully demented song and perhaps one of my all time favourite Floyd songs.

And I think it was really just a bit of closure on the band. Most of the songs are about the members and relations with the members. A final say and then a final goodbye with High Hopes.

I went out and saw a tribute band called "The Spirit Of Pink Floyd" last night.

My parents have seen The Australian Pink Floyd - so I'm envious of them. One of my tutors at my last college saw the real Pink Floyd - so I'm very envious of him. He even used to wash the drummer's car!

But this one I saw were great. The musicians were brilliant, but the lead vocalist was dodgy to begin with, but as the show went on he got a lot better and started to shine (on you crazy diamond ).

They did a brilliant "Hey You", which is my favourite Floyd song so I'm glad they did it justice. They followed that one up with Run Like Hell which was one of the highlights, that was the last song of the first part of the show and I could hear people at the bar saying "what was that last song they played?". They really did give perfect it.

The second half opened with a great Shine On You Crazy Diamond. One of the encores involved The Great Gig In The Sky where the female guitarist did the lead vocals, she nailed it.

Wish You Were Here got everyone singing. The lead guitarist did a MINDBLOWING solo on Comfortably Numb, which could only be bettered by Gilmour himself. Then it ended with The Happiest Days Of Our Lives/Another Brick In The Wall (part 2) which involved a classroom of kids entering the stage and singing - it was great.

I really enjoyed it.

Now I'm on a massive Floyd kick again - I'm gonna lay down on my bed and listen to Dark Side Of The Moon later in complete darkness. The perfect thing to do before going to see Amy Macdonald of all people live tommorow...

Y'know, I suffer from insomnia. But everynow and then a PF album can send me to sleep.

Except this song time where the first couple of The Dark Side Of The Moon tracks sent me to sleep - and then Time rudely woke me up. God that pissed me off.

BTW - shame on you for not liking Pink Floyd.

Far from boring. Bon Jovi are more boring.

Nope - I miss some songs where you can rock - there is nothing to rock to regarding PF. Maybe when I am 70 I will like em
