Just Older song is only classic Bon Jovi 90's sound from Crush era,LH is poor attempt of country rolling LML copy,can't compare the two.

MaM is somewhat original,different kind of ballad that BJ venture in,and since 2000's is the first non IML song to be 1'st single.Bells of Freedom is just another filler to me,nothing spectacular.

Among these 4 songs and many others from 00's,Just Older is masterpiece that stands the test of time.

The moment with Richie & Jon shoulder to shoulder is PRICELESS.

I like Lost Highway, but it's not one of my favourites. I have to say that I like it mostly when they play that extra part at the end of "...come on, let's go" and before the last chorus!! It's better!

Make A Memory is a great song in my opinion. One of their best ballads since 2000! But I like Beels Of Freedom too, even if I like more its demo version, because of the different lyrics...

But the outtake of Bells of Freedom, which Jon hates, is better than the final album version.

I'm not too fond of any of these songs, but out of the first pair I'd pick just older, as before I overplayed it it was one of my favourites from Crush.

As for the second pair, Bells of Freedom. Not a huge fan of either of them but this one has the (very slight) edge for me.

Just Older's a good song. It's well written and would have been a good single choice if IML not been so obvious. Lost Highway is crap to be honest. It's a typical modern day Bon Jovi first single. Catchy bullshit with a false positive twist.

As for Bells and Memory I think they are two of the most boring songs Bon Jovi have ever done. There's just nothing in them that grips me.

"Just Older" is a classic. Great lyrics, great music, and was always great live, especially when Jon & Richie shared the mic for the 2nd verse.

"Bells Of Freedom" is a catchy tune, but the most memorable thing about it is the passion in Jon'a voice. It lacks something though, a real solo maybe, some ad-lips, I don't know.

"Lost Highway" is a modern Bon Jovi classic for me with that decent country sound that matches them perfectly. I'm not the biggest fan of the album in total, but this one sticks out. It wasn't a good opener though.

"Make A Memory" made my top 5 of BJ songs, I guess... or at least my top 10. It reassured my faith in the band... it's a brilliant melancholic ballad that has nothing to do with the cheesy love ballads they wrote since "Crush" (though I enjoy them too). This song sounds more like real art, like the result of true songwriters that don't follow any trends. I thought it was brave to release it as a first single. I always read the lyrics to be about Jon & Richie... don't know how much of it is in there, but they sure had their conflicts around 1989/90, and it's a great song about friends getting back together. And it means something personally too. There you have it - it "means" something. This one really feels like it has a meaning, despite being crafted for airplay.

Just Older is way better than LH, both lyrically and sound, and it's not some kind of IML clone.
I prefer BOF, though MAM is great too.

Just older, no doubt. To me, almost anything wins against Lost Highway, that song has nothing for me. Boring to death.
