I think they did that One Night thing to give the album its live moment and thus go on with the usual greatest hits set + 2 new songs. So it'd be interesting to see which one of us will be right.

I think there was a lot of chances to do stuff like that, yeah, and for whatever reason they didn't. But I don't think it was 2020 specific, it feels like they just put pause on so much. The perfect anecdote I can think of is when they were promoting The Circle and Jon said if the fans got Superman Tonight to the top of the VH1 countdown him and Richie would do an acoustic version from the dressing room. It didn't go to number 1 and they didn't do it. There desire to actually push these things feel like it needs to be forced on them.
It kind of feels like Jon trusts his team and marketing people to push it and the pandemic really showed that it if comes to him doing it himself he won't.
You may be right, he may want to say screw it, bury the album and start fresh but I don't get the logic that because it bombed that means people don't know the songs. That's already quite a few songs on the current setlist, he plays them because he wants to regardless of sales. I just feel like now he can properly play stuff live he may give it a second shot, put Luv Can out and see where it goes. I really don't know any more haha.
