Couldn't agree more, Becky.

I'm a big fan of comedy from late-night talk shows to sketch shows like SNL and it's sad to see how much they're leaning on Trump-and-his-cabinet bashing, especially on Fallon.

Damned if they do, damned if they don't.

I can understand this, but sometimes you have to throw your fist up, raise your voice and fight for what you believe, true artists do that to help change the world in a better place. Jon tries, but he's not very good at it.

I think Jon should do a fireworks album, pyrotechnics, like they did past, great riffs, memorable guitar solos, big hooks, recover that energy.

You mean go back to the 80's right?

All that stuff is cool at some point but seeing guys in their late 50ties or 60ties dressed up, jumping up and down between flames and doing acrobatics in the air is just ridiculous IMHO. Only KISS can pull it off but they've been clowns doing a theatrical act for ages.

As for more rock sound I'm all yay but we have to take into account that Jon's voice is not what it used to be. It's not trashing him, it's just coming to terms with the reality. What they are doing now is balancing between current situation and fans' desire to hear old hits.

Completely agree. I never wanted my band to be (like) KISS.

The fact that they changed their sound over the years is not the problem. A great song is still a great song in any genre and I listen to many of them. It's the quality of songs and delivery. Delivery has obviously suffered from Jon's vocal decline, but the inconsistent songwriting is the reason that we are often let down by much of their post-2000 output. If you combine the best from TC and WAN into one you get a very good album. If you do the same for BB and THINFS you get a great album! But when an aging rockstar insists on doing on doing 7 albums in 17 years (in his 40s and 50s) it's only natural that not everything is as good as it good be. It's no coincidence that other peers of Jon take much longer breaks between albums, take much more time to make them and the end result is much better received by fans and media than your typical Bon Jovi album.

Yeah, Jon rushes things and fails here and there hiding the gems between some over- or underproduced tracks. On the other hand, there's Richie and his 'soon' that has become a never-ending epic story

Phil posted on twitter that they had made some music today. Now I do have my hopes up for some new tunes. And it's great that Phil is involved. 🎼

Nice to see Phil involved in making music. Must have felt strange to be called out as an official member but still barely participating on a new album about "rebirth", to quote Jon.
Of course I don't know if there's some logical reason to why Phil couldn't make it, but it would seem to play lead guitar on a Bon Jovi album would be on the top of his priorities if asked upon.

Phil said in the twitter/instagram post, "holding the collectors edition of the new tour book. & then we made some music. nice to keep the dust off". To me, "nice to keep the dust off" indicates that they're rehearsing to remain in practice. I want to be wrong, but I think they were just rehearsing live songs for the tour.

Yep, that's how I interpreted it too.
