They have? That's quite a stretch. WWBTF bored me to tears as a first single. I listened to it once or twice upon release and ignored it until the release of the album. It was WWWB that got me very excited for The Circle, despite certain members of the board's best efforts to discredit and dismiss the song, I thought and still think the track is awesome. WWBTF hardly represents The Circle. It's one of the weaker tracks of the album.
So "This Ain't A Love Song" fully prepared you for "Hey God" and "Damned?" "Everyday" foreshadowed "Hook Me Up" and "Undivided?" "Saturday Night Gave Me Sunday Morning" sounds like "A Teardrop To the Sea," "We Don't Run" and "Who Would You Die For?"
Albums are journeys. Not collections of songs that all sound the same. You're tasting vanilla ice cream and assuming there is no Sweet Cream Coffee Caramel.
