They might not have had much influence but from all accounts I've heard the same amount of influence they had on HAND and THE CIRCLE (Talking strictly Dave and Tico). The narrative that Jon recorded these albums with ghost musicians is constant silly talk.

On WAN, I wouldn't put it past them that Tico isn't featured on all tracks. Jon told the story that in December of 2011, Tico had declined to play on tracks because he wanted a break. Later on, it was known that WAN had essentially been finished before Richie did Aftermath of the Lowdown. AOTL leaked in what, June 2012? That CBS Person to Person special aired in March 2012 and there you could see Jon singing to the finished track of What About Now. So it really narrows it down to a limited time frame. Of course, Tico could've done his work on the album within 2 days by drumming his pieces. But we've had a track as far back as on These Days where Tico and Dave actually didn't play on.
On that album, there certainly was the least influence by any band members bar Jon, of that I'm sure. Some of the tracks have so random drum playing (but then again, even TILTIL sounds like a drum machine to me) that it's hard to decipher whether it was all Tico or not.

Ok, so it looks like single in January, album in March, US tour in 2020, Europe in 2021 and rest of the world in 2022. Sounds good to me, bring it on

The WAN tour broke Richie. He just wanted a Jovi time out and I get that after LH, TC and GH2 were released in 3 years of each other then WAN followed so soon.

Jbj blames Richie but he is as much to blame as anyone for making Richie break.

That is why his answer bothers me, since he tries to become the victim because of Richie. Jon is a genius in the business, but he also likes to misrepresent the facts, he could dedicate himself to politics without a doubt.

Another thing, if Richie hadn't broken, I'm sure the BWC tour would have continued until the summer of 2014 and raised more money. All for buy the footbal team.

To all this, in this last decade, the largest numbers was made in 2010-2011 and then in 2013. THINFS Tour has not had large numbers. It was more discreet.

mmmm, I think the box set could be released in 2023 or 2024 (40th anniversary), the question is, what if the new album does not work, would they release something in 2021-2022 to rekindle the tours in those years? maybe an album or a bluray live? new songs in digital EP?

True but there's a big difference between Jon doing keyboards/the song not having a drum track and session musicians taking the place of the band. I think HAND, The Circle, some stuff on LH and some songs on WAN were all recorded with drums and keys last so Tico and David did their parts over a few days. That's something completely different then the band not playing on it. It's a band, just recorded in a piecemeal way devoid of any soul or interaction.

I would love to break down who played what on what.

It's true that these tracks were recorded last, at least on HAND it's confirmed that Tico and Hugh came in and played their parts within 2 days (was somewhere in the EPK).

With WAN, Jon's words (about the discussion with Tico) were, if I recall: "Ok, then we'll just work with any drummer we can find around." Of course that was done for the demos, but it made me curious whether all parts were truly later replaced by Tico or not. Some of the drumming sounds so random that it's really hard to tell. There's a difference between Jon saying that they'll use a drum machine until Tico comes in or him saying that they'll look for some other drummer to play until Tico feels ready to return. It also once again how urgent it must've been for Jon to get record done.

So it's all about Tico, "Year One would be in the U.S., Year Two would be in Europe, and then Year Three could be rest of the world."
To be honest, it's all about the hair >_< jajaja:

PS Tour is after March.

Gotcha. I'd have to really listen back. The fills in That's What The Water Made Me are pure Tico. Jon has said in the past if it was any other drummer it wouldn't sound like the band but so much has changed since 2002. In my heart of hearts I feel like it's Tico on the album.
